Portland Bureau of Transportation Embracing Drone for Disaster Relief

The Portland Transportation Bureau (PBOT) is seeking funs to purchase UAS to help aid disaster response.
The PBOT is seeking $12,000 for invest in two drones for use in evaluating landslides and floods, according to a press release from Portland Commissioner Dan Saltzman.
The income would be part of a $2.8 million budget, which includes a $1.2 million general fund investment for equipment and other materials.
The approval is still pending, and the fund would be available in the budget starting July 1.
